Lugovoye is located in five kilometers from the recreation area Koblevo by sea in the direction of Nikolaev, and 15 km from the Odessa-Nikolaev road between the Morskoye and Rybakovka villages.

The Berezan island can be considered as the pearl of this area, it inspired A.S. Pushkin to write a fairy tale of Tsar Saltan and became the prototype of fairy Buyan island. It is also called the island of Lieutenant Schmidt. There on 6 March of 1906 by the verdict of the tsar’s court the commander of the Revolutionary Black Sea Navy Lt. Peter Schmidt and leaders of the uprising in the cruiser Ochakov had been killed. The Berezan Island is the island of secrets and mysteries. It attracts attention not only of tourists but also academics, archaeologists, historians, geologists and geographers. Island Berezan was declared as archaeological reserve. Archaeological research on it started in the end of last century and even now they are kept on. Boat trip to the island and back will take 2-3 hours with a landing on the island.

Paragliding enthusiasts will find excellent opportunity to fly on steep slopes of Lugovoye.
